Howlite mineral stones have obtained this name form their discoverer Henry How, a renowned geologist. These minerals are famous as these can frequently imitate other minerals. Howlite stones are available either in white or gray color. These can easily be dyed and be dyed a turquoise blue. Color of these gemstones varies from white to gray mottles, blotches and web-like markings. The luster of these stones may either be dull, or semi-glassy or earthy. The crystals of these stones are either translucent or opaque and the crystalline system is Monoclinic. No cleavages are found on the stone surface.
