Hessonite gem
stones have another name i.e Cinnamon. This stone is a variety of
Grossular mineral that consists aluminum and calcium and belongs to
Garnet group. The name has been derived form Greek name "
hesson". This means inferior in connotation to its lower
density and harness. The prime color of these stones is red that is
little bit inclined towards orange. Initially, when these gem stones
were invented, these were regarded as Zircon. The important sources
of these gem stones are Sri Lanka, Brazil and California (U.S.A).
