The precious
gold metal is being extracted form these gold stones. The color of
these gemstones varies from bluish, pinkish, greenish and even
whitish and all depend upon the amount and quantity of impurities
present in them. These stones are available either in the form of
rutilated quartz or tourmalinated quartz. These stones have metallic
luster, but they are opaque. The crystals of gold stones are usually
found in isometric form. No cleavage is found on the surface of
these stones.
As, the specific gravity of these stones is very high, therefore
these stones are extremely hard. Other characteristics of these
stones are: they are ductile, sectile and malleable. They are mainly
occurred in South Africa, Canada, Former U.S.S.R, U.S., Australia
and some African countries.
