He took this stone to his home where they gave this to their family friend Schalk Van Neikirk. He said that it was a 21-carat yellow diamond. It was called the Eureka that was sold for £500.

In 1868 a Swartboy found another beautiful stone near the Orange River. Van Neikirk after inspecting that stone immediately gave all his livestocks to him. He then sold it for £11,200. Cecil Rhodes then founded a diamond empire. With this South Africa became a very popular place for diamonds.
